Frank Macek, Jr. 86, born October 14,
1917, to Frank Macek Sr. and Mary Macek, passed away on
Saturday, August 21, 2004 in Houston. He was a veteran of
World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. During the
war, he was originally missing in action, and later
discovered to be a prisoner of war for sixteen months in
Germany. He was wounded and received a Purple
Heart. Frank was very proud of his
military service to our country, and received many medals.
He was a true American Hero. Frank was a very wonderful
husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will
be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Frank was preceded in death by his
father, Frank Macek Sr.; mother, Mary Macek; brother,
Charlie Macek; and sister, Rosie Jochec. He is survived by
his wife of fifty-three years, Rosa Lee Macek; two
daughters, Dorothy Adams and her husband Gary, and Mary Jane
Harrison and her husband Robert; six grandchildren, Chelsea
Harrison, Brandi Sopchak and her husband Kelly, Billy Adams,
Scotty Adams and his wife Rhonda, Lonnie Adams and his wife
April, and Holly Page and her husband Luke; two
great-grandchildren, Sarah and Hannah Adams, and was
expecting two more this year; and many nieces, nephews and
friends.
Friends were invited to visitation with
the family from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM Tuesday, August 24, 2004,
at Earthman Southwest Chapel, 12555 South Kirkwood,
Stafford. Funeral Services were held at 10:00 AM Wednesday,
August 25, 2004 at Earthman Southwest Chapel. Interment
followed with military honors at Morton Cemetery in
Richmond, TX. Serving as pallbearers were
Billy Adams, Scotty Adams, Lonnie Adams, Luke Page, Kelly
Sopchak, and Anton Macek.
