J. Claude Wallace, age 85, of Sugar Land,
passed away on September 10, 2002. He was born on May 8, 1917 in
Uvalde, Texas.
A resident of Sugar Land for 42 years, Mr.
Wallace, formerly of Corpus Christi, graduated from the
University of Texas. He was employed for 31 years in the Land
Acquisition Department of Tennessee Gas Transmission Company. He
was an avid sportsman; including football, semi professional
baseball, hunting, fishing and golf. He had a passion for
raising and racing thoroughbred race horses.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years,
Marjorie Wallace of Sugar Land; his daughter, Wynn Baylor of
Wimberley, TX; his son, Wade Roy Wallace and wife Debra of
Yoakum, TX; nephew, Tom Abernathy; niece, Rebecca Gonzales; 3
grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, September
13, 2002 at the Settegast-Kopf Company, 15015 Southwest Freeway,
Sugar Land, Texas 77478, with Reverend Isabell "Mopsy" Andrews
officiating. Interment followed the services with burial at
Forest Park Lawndale.
