Clyde Aaron Tesh, 81, beloved father,
grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away Wednesday,
May 5, 2004 at Brookstone Terrace in Clemmons. Mr. Tesh was
born in Forsyth County to the late Charles Romulus and Eva
Doub Tesh on July 18, 1922. He was the youngest son of seven
children all whom preceded him in death. Mr. Tesh was a 1939
graduate of Clemmons High School and remained in the
Clemmons area for the majority of his life. On December 2,
1942, he married Carolyn Lonsford who also preceded him in
death on May 14, 1992. Mr. Tesh served his country in the
Coast Guard during World War II and retired from the U.S.
Postal Service in 1980.
Upon his retirement he enjoyed farming
and helping his friends. Many people will remember his acts
of kindness and the abundant love he had for his neighbors
and friends. His greatest joy in life was spending time with
his children and family. Mr. Tesh was a member of
Cornerstone Baptist Church and his involvement in his church
was a source of great pleasure and joy for him. At
Cornerstone he was a member of a gospel quartet that
performed songs of inspiration to many churches in the
community.
Mr. Tesh is survived by two sons, Don and
wife Joy of Houston, TX and Steve and wife, Carlene of
Winston-Salem, NC; four grandchildren, Andrea Strader of
Winston-Salem, Lesley Tesh of Houston, TX, Susannah Johnston
and husband Jeff also of Houston and Scott Tesh and fiancˇ
Amy Grieshaber of Dallas, TX.; two step-grandchildren, Jason
Goins and wife Tina of Lexington and Ashley Goins of
Winston-Salem. He had two great-granddaughters, Hannah
McElyea of Houston and Grayson Elizabeth Tuttle of
Winston-Salem; one step-great-granddaughter, Skylar Goins of
Lexington, NC.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00
PM Saturday, May 8 at Cornerstone Baptist Church with the
Rev. Charles H. Martin officiating. Burial will follow at
Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons. The family will
receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 preceding the funeral
at the church. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be
made to Cornerstone Baptist Church, 4507 Thomasville Rd.,
Winston-Salem, NC 27107. The family would like to express
their heartfelt gratitude and thanks to the staff at
Brookstone Terrace for all the care and love that was shown
to Mr. Tesh. Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is in charge
of arrangements.
