Funeral services for Roxie Davis Strickland, 91, of Sugar Land, Texas were held Friday, July 23, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel, in Rosenberg, Texas. Interment followed in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Rosenberg.

Roxie was born October 7, 1912 in San Angelo, Texas to Charles and Martha Peppers Davis. She was a member of the Silvertone Choir at First Baptist Church of Sugar Land. She enjoyed playing dominos, cards and quilting. Her beautiful plants were proof of her green thumb. Roxie was employed by the old Sugar Land ISD and Fort Bend ISD as a cafeteria cook for 11 years. She passed away July 20, 2004 in Houston, Texas.

Roxie is preceded in death by her husband, Milton Strickland, Sr. and her daughters, Annette Guidry and Nellie Davenport.

She is survived by a son, Milton Strickland of Sugar Land, Texas; daughters, Dora Burns of Houston, Texas, Mary Falsone of Stafford, Texas; 18 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; along with other relatives and many friends.
