Kay E. (Cooley) Crenshaw, 60, of Missouri
City, moved to heaven on August 25, 2002, with her family by her
side after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Kay was
deeply loved and admired for her every-cheerful countenance and
generosity for all. Kay demonstrated remarkable faith and
unconditional love that not only encouraged but inspired others.
She was an angel living among us. She will be well remembered
for her beautiful singing.
Kay was born on February 6, 1942 and was a
resident of Lyford, Texas. She was a member of the CUCM Chancel
Choir from 1987-2002. Kay served as a Rural Courier for the
Missouri City Post Office for 20 years.
Kay is survived by her devoted and loving
husband, Robert Crenshaw; daughter, Sheryl Crenshaw; daughter
and son-in-law, Melonie and Steve Martin of Sugar Land; son and
daughter-in-law Patrick and Becky Crenshaw of Jacksonville, FL;
daughter and son-in-law Carolyn and Brett Hill of Missouri City;
mother, Doris Cooley of Sugar Land; father-in-law, Everette
Crenshaw of Raymond, TX; brother and sister-in-law, Butch and
Gretchen Cooley of Harlingen, TX; grandchildren, Jonathan
Crenshaw, Rett Crenshaw, Dinah Martin, Madeline Hill, Timothy
Crenshaw, Chloe Hill and Callie Martin; aunts; uncles; cousins;
nieces; nephews; great-nieces and great nephews. Kay is preceded
in death by her father, Richard Cooley of Lyford, TX;
mother-in-law, Chois Crenshaw of Raymondville, TX and niece,
Lenae (Cooley) Grey of Harlingen, TX.
Visitation was held Wednesday, August 28,
2002 from 7-9 at the Settegast-Kopf Co. at Sugar Creek, 15015
Southwest Freeway (Williams Trace exit). The funeral service was
Thursday, August 29, 2002, at 10 a.m. in the Christ United
Methodist Church, 3300 Austin Parkway, Sugar Land, TX,
281-980-6888, with interment to follow at Davis-Greenlawn
cemetery in Rosenberg, TX.
