Harvey
Howard, age 89, a 26-year resident of Missouri City, TX passed away on
July 8, 2003. He was born on February 6, 1914 in Hartford, CT. After
graduating from Trinity College (CT), he worked on General Motors’
management team for over thirty years. He was as active member of St.
Laurence Catholic Church and was a long-time member of Quail Valley
Country Club where he enjoyed working and golfing. He also enjoyed
teaching English as a second language at the local library where he
had a positive impact on all his students. Harvey’s family and many
friends were the center of his life. He will be remembered as a loving
father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and will be missed by all
those who knew and loved him.
Harvey was preceded in death by his loving wife of
58 years, Margaret M. Howard, and beloved daughter-in-law, Mary Jo
Howard. He is survived by his sons, Bill Howard and wife Donna of
Thousand Oaks, CA, Fred Howard of Missouri City, TX, and Tom Howard
and wife Linda of Austin, TX; brother, Bob Howard and wife Barbara of
Cape Cod, MA; grandchildren, Alison and Matthew Howard, Sarah and
Caroline Howard, Jack and Katie Reed; great-grandchildren, Cody and
Madison; niece, Susan Howard; nephew, Bob Howard, Jr.; great-niece,
Katelyn Howard and great-nephews, Matthew Ricker and Ryan Howard.
Visitation was held on Friday, July 11, 2003 in the
Essex Room of The Settegast-Kopf Co. A memorial Mass was held on
Saturday, July 12, 2003 in The Chapel of Divine Mercy of St. Laurence
Catholic Church (3100 Sweetwater Blvd., Sugar Land 77478) with the
Rev. Phil Lloyd, celebrant.
Harvey’s wishes were to be cremated. He will be
laid to rest beside his wife Margaret at a later date. In lieu of
flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Harvey may be made to St.
Laurence Catholic Parish.
