Bruce F. Harrison passed away on
Saturday, May 29, 2004. Born December 8, 1950, he was a
third generation Houstonian. His grandparents, Daniel J. and
Ethel Harrison, Sr. and his parents, Daniel J. Harrison, Jr.
and Mary Alice Smith, precede him in death. Bruce is
survived by his son William Bruce Harrison; the mother of
his son, Francesca F. Harrison; his brother Daniel J.
Harrison, III and his wife Rosemary; and Laura SoRelle. All
of them will forever be foremost in his thoughts.
Bruce graduated from Houston's Lamar High
School, where he was an enthusiastic participant in the
Future Farmers of America Academic program. Following high
school, Bruce attended Southwestern University and The
University of Texas. He was a member of the Kappa Sigma
fraternity at Southwestern University.
Bruce was a devoted steward of the land
of Texas and of all things historical. He was actively
involved in supporting Fort Bend County and Lamar High
School students in agricultural programs. He was a member of
the Texas Southwest Cattle Raisers Association, the Houston
Club, and River Oaks Country Club.
A funeral service will be held at 12:30
p.m. on Friday, June 4, 2004, in the Chapel of Angels at
Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale Avenue, with
Rev. Leo Wleczyk officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in honor of
Bruce may be made to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, PO Box
4486, Houston, Texas 77210-4486, or a favorite charity of
choice.
