Funeral Mass for Billy Gene Turman, 69, loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, were held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, December 20, 2003 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Manvel, Texas where he attended services for 31 years. Interment followed at St. Mary's cemetery in Caldwell, Texas.

Visitation was held from 4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., Friday, December 19, 2003 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg, Texas with a rosary being held at 7:30 p.m.

Billy was born August 8, 1934 in New Baden, Texas to Edward Turman and Lottie DewVall Turman He went home to be with the Lord on December 18, 2003 in Missouri City, Texas.

He graduated from Marlin High School in Marlin, Texas in 1952 and then entered the Marine Corps and happily served his country for 2 years during the Korean Conflict. Billy was a very honest and successful business man in Harris and Fort Bend Counties for over 30 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Lottie Turman, brothers, Louis, Red, Jerry and Thelbert Turman; and sister, Audrey Southern.

Billy is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Margaret Joyce Schoppe Turman of Fresno, Texas; children: Gregory Jay Turman and wife, Linda, of Fresno, TX; Angela Rene Turman and husband, Ronald Calvin Spell of Fresno, TX; Adrienne Turman Petter and husband, Randolph William Petter, of Wallis, TX; Patrick Gene Turman and wife, Jackie, of Needville, TX; grandchildren: Matthew and Joel Turman, Zachary and Amanda Turman, Chad and Ashley Spell; brothers and sisters: Mrs. Dorothy Haas of Garland, TX, Mrs. Lillian Wilson of Houston, TX, Mrs. Barbara Maza of Miami, FL, Mr. Ernest Lee Turman of Elm Mott, TX, Mr. Marion Turman of Houston, TX, Mr. David Turman of Garland, TX; grand-dogs: SimbaClaire, Tucker Ray, Julianne, Memo and Emma; grand-cats: Jimmy Joe, Charlie and Buford.
