Alfred Ernst Sandersen, of Lubbock,
passed away Sunday February 6, 2005.
Alfred was a first generation American,
born March 3, 1921 in Bristol, Pennsylvania to Frieithof
Olaf and Marie Kubler Sandersen. He was a lifelong lover of
aviation. He served his nation honorably in the U.S. Army
during WWII in North Africa, Sicily, Italy, France and
Germany. He was an instructor pilot-advanced and basic for
the US Air Force. He continued with a career in the Federal
Aviation Administration retiring in 1985.
Mr. Sandersen is survived by his wife,
Marie of fifty-two years, a sister Edna of Las Vegas,
Nevada, three sons, Kenneth of Dallas and Alan of Missouri
City and Randal of Lubbock as well as three granddaughters,
Amanda, Alyssa and Lauren Sandersen all of whom he loved and
was loved by deeply.
Memorial service will be Saturday
February 12 at 1:00 p.m. at Resthaven's Abbey Chapel.
Mr. Sandersen will be laid to his final
rest at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.
