A Funeral Mass for Adela Cantu Ruiz, 66, of Sugar Land, Texas was held at 10:00 A. M., Friday, May 26, 2006 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Sugar Land with Father Stephen B. Reynolds officiating. Interment followed in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg.

Visitation was held Thursday, May 25, 2006, with a rosary being recited at 7:30 P. M., at St. Theresa Catholic Church.

Adela was born October 28, 1939 in Sugar Land, Texas to Pete and Angelita Saenz Cantu. She passed away May 23, 2006 in Sugar Land, Texas. She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Sugar Land.

Adela is preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Angelita Cantu.

She is survived by her husband, Felix Ruiz of Sugar Land, Texas; children: Guadalupe Ruiz of San Antonio, Texas, Judith Escobedo and husband, Edmund, of Sugar Land, Texas, Yvette Garza and husband, Leonardo, of Sugar Land, Texas, Felix Antonio Ruiz and Ginesa Salinas of Sugar Land, Texas; brothers: Pete Cantu and wife, Olga, of Rosenberg, Texas, Ruben Cantu and wife, Elia, of Brownsville; sister: Lupe Barajas and husband, Alfred, of Houston, Texas; grandchildren: Jordan Ruiz, Cheyenne Ruiz, Justin Escobedo, Lauren Escobedo, Christian Escobedo, Sierra Escobedo, Kalie Garza, Christopher Garza, Gabrielle Garza, Kyana Garza, Ashley Ruiz, Sofia Ruiz and Antonio Ruiz; along with other family members and friends.

Pallbearers included Leonardo Garza, Jr., Lupe Ruiz, Tony Ruiz, Edmund Escobedo, Justin Escobedo and Chris Garza. Honorary pallbearers will include Ronnie Hester and Jeff Moreno.
