Wilma Maxine Basinger Peevey

Wilma Maxine basinger peevey passed away on January 11, 2010 in Burleson, Texas in her 85th year. Funeral Arrangements are being made by Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, Houston, Texas: A private graveside service is scheduled on Saturday.

Maxine was born on November 26, 1924 in Booneville, Arkansas to the late Herman Basinger and Vivian Fowler Basinger. Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Ishaam Wade Peevey, her sister, Wynema Basinger Clay, and her brother Fowler Basinger. Maxine graduated from Fort Smith High School in 1941 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. After high school, Maxine moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma were she met her husband at a local dance, Maxine and Wade were married for 46 years. In Tulsa, Maxine worked as a waitress at the Historic Mayo Hotel, later on when Maxine moved to Houston, Texas; Maxine worked as a waitress at Neiman Marcus until her retirement. In retirement years Maxine and her husband were members of the Quail Valley Country Club. Golfing, socializing with friends, playing with her pets, and travel to Las Vegas were their passions in their Golden years. Maxine was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Missouri City.

Survivors: Nephew and wife, Grady Clay Jr. and Dixie of Burleson, Texas, great-niece, Crystal Clay of Fort Worth, Texas, two dearest friends, Carolyn Bowden and Nancy Lindsay of Quail Valley, Texas, and her Yorky dog, Tiny Tot.

Memorials: Should friends desire, memorials may be given to Meals on Wheels or First United Methodist Church of Missouri City, Texas.
