Janie Garcia Salinas, beloved mother, sister, and friend, went to be with her Lord this past Saturday, February 6, 2010. Janie was born on January 27, 1950 and was immediately embraced by the loving Garcia Family. Janie grew up with her family in El Campo, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Sara Garcia; her bothers, Benito Garcia, Abel Garcia, and sister, Rosaena Garcia Clark. Janie spent over half of her life in the restaurant business, beginning with the El Campo Restaurant and twenty plus years at Ninfa’s Restaurants in Houston. She also spent over ten years working for Dr. Tom Arnold and Dr. Melissa Moeller of Today’s Vision - Sugar Land. She was a vital member of The Quail Valley Church in Missouri City.
Janie is survived by her brothers, Wally Garcia, Tony Garcia, Manuel Garcia Jr., Paul Garcia, her sister, Effie Taylor and of course her beloved princess and daughter, Sara Salinas Nguyen, along with the babies, Taz, Foxy, Fred, Barney, and Maggie.
Janie Garcia Salinas will also be greatly missed by her surviving family members, friends, and BFF Cindy. We will certainly miss our joy! She was our beloved, caring, loving, giving and beautiful angel. She shall remain in our hearts today, tomorrow and forever!
