MARIAN C. LORD, age 69, of Sugar Land, TX, born July 9, 1940, in Huff, ND, passed away Sunday, April 4, 2010, in Houston, TX. Marian devoted her career to serving children by running her own in-home preschool and daycare in Missouri City, TX, working as a preschool teacher for Cedarwood Daycare in Missouri City, serving as a teacher’s aide at Quail Valley Elementary School in Missouri City, creating the preschool religious education curriculum at Holy Family Catholic Church in Missouri City, and serving as a librarian’s aide at Colony Bend Elementary School in Sugar Land. She was an active volunteer with the Campfire Girls and Girl Scouts throughout her life. Marian was a founding and current member of St. Laurence Catholic

Church, where she active with the Arts and Entertainment Committee and the RCIA program. She was a former nurse’s aide in Mandan, ND, and a former precinct voting chair for local elections in Fort Bend County. Marian was preceded in death by her husband, James Hall Lord; son, James Patrick Lord; and father, James Belohlavek. She is survived by her son, Robert Lord and his wife Christy of Sunnyvale, CA; daughters, Jennifer Chesterman and her husband Bob of Sugar Land, TX, Karen Voelkel and her husband Vince of Missouri City, TX, and Christina Moreland and her husband Joey of Sugar Land, TX; ten grandchildren, Amanda, Andrew, Kevin, Christopher, Hannah, Sterling, Abigail, Zachary, Elizabeth, and Samantha; one great-granddaughter, Skylar; two step-grandchildren, Erick and Shaun; mother, Clementine Belohlavek of Mandan, ND; brothers, James Belohlavek, Jr. of Mandan, ND, and George Belohlavek and his wife Janice of Mandan, ND; sisters, Susan Reiben and her husband Kent of Sidney, Montana, Kathy Mosbrucker of Mandan, ND, and Debbie Gabel and her husband Lyle of Mandan, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation was held Friday, April 9, 2010, from 6PM to 8:00 PM, at The Settegast-Kopf Co.@ Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land, with a Rosary recited at 7:00 PM. Funeral Services were held Saturday, April 10, 2010, 10:30 AM, at St. Laurence Catholic Church, 3100 Sweetwater Blvd., Sugar Land, with the Rev. Drew Wood, Celebrant. Interment followed at Woodlawn Garden of Memories, in Houston, TX.
