A memorial service to celebrate the life of Grace Davis Luhning Meyers, 84, of Stafford, Texas will be held on Saturday, September 4, at 1:00 p.m. at Heritage Baptist Church, 2223 FM 1092 Rd, Missouri City, Texas.

She departed this life on August 27, 2010. She graduated from Texas City High School in 1942, and earned a BA at University of Texas at El Paso in 1975. She was an active church and community volunteer in Texas City and West Columbia, TX and in Timberon, NM, where she founded and ran the community library. On August 28, Timberon flags were flown at half mast in her honor.

Grace was preceded in death by husbands Joseph C. Luhning, Jr. (d 1947) and Carl Dean Meyers (d 1979). Survivors include 3 daughters: Sharon Bates of Burleson (Johnny), Carol Stearman of Stafford (Richard), and Jo Hodgin of Virginia (Larry), 4 granddaughters, 2 honorary grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 1 great great granddaughter.
