A Memorial Mass for Sandra McNutt Sullivan, 69, of Sugar Land, was held Saturday, November 21, 2009 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg with Father Don Schwarting and Father William D. Bartniski officiating.

Sandra was born January 16, 1940 in Rosenberg to Guy McNutt and Angela Joerger McNutt. She was a graduate of Lamar Consolidated High School in Rosenberg where she was an active member of the tennis team and cheerleading squad. She was also Fort Bend County Fair Queen. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Texas in Austin where she was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority. She taught with Fort Bend ISD and the Stafford Municipal School District having over 29 years of service. Sandra enjoyed being with her family, especially her girls, working in her yard, planting flowers, cooking, playing on the computer and taking trips to Kemah. Known as Maw Maw, Sandra cherished every moment she spent with her grandson, Austin, he was her world. She passed away peacefully on November 19, 2009 in Houston.

Sandra is preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Angela McNutt.

She is survived by her daughters, Deborah “DeDe” Sullivan of Sugar Land and Shelly Essex and husband, Chad, of Sugar Land; aunt, Kathleen Joerger Lindsey; siblings, James McNutt and wife, Carol, of Rosenberg, Darrell McNutt and wife, Sue, of South Lake, Connie McNutt Stone and husband, Mike, of Sugar Land; grandson, Austin Essex of Sugar Land; nieces and nephews, Molly Berry and husband, Ray, of Abilene, Ashley Schroeder and husband, Josh, of Georgetown, Clay McNutt of Dallas, and Steven Stone of Sugar Land; along with other relatives and many friends.
