Bobby Joe VanMeter

Funeral services for Bobby Joe (B.J.) VanMeter, 75, of Sugar Land, were held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, January 9, 2009 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Interment followed at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg.

Reverend Charles Murphy officiated the services.

Visitation was held from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Thursday, January 8, 2009 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg.

Bobby was born January 10, 1933 in Longview to Reverend O.T. and Edna Belle (Brown) VanMeter. He was a member at Heritage Baptist Church in Missouri City, Texas. He went to be with the Lord on January 6, 2009 in Houston.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Arvella VanMeter; parents, Rev. O.T. and Edna VanMeter; brother, Charles VanMeter; and a sister, Irma Jewel Casey.

Bobby is survived by his sister, Janice Kenemore; daughters, Sarita Cummins of Sugar Land and Cyndi Mustapick of Sugar Land; three grandchildren, Todd Cummins and wife, Jennifer, Ryan Cummins and Jenny Mustapick; and one great-granddaughter, Gracie Cummins, along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers were Art Grahmann, Charles Lindsay, Don Cook, Todd Cummins, Ryan Cummins and Ronald Brooks.

Honorary Pallbearers were Steve VanMeter, Ray Williams, Mike Mitchell, Van Little, Clyde Cone, C.B. McDougal, Truman Bowles, Max Hagan and Truman Alexander.
