The home going celebration for Yvonne “Bonnie” Crumb of Sugar Land, Texas will be 11 o’clock am Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at the Higher Dimension Church in Houston, Texas. Interment will be at Davis Greenlawn Cemetery in Rosenberg, Texas and will be
officiated by Pastor Terrance H. Johnson. Yvonne departed this life Saturday morning at West Houston Medical center after a long illness.
Yvonne was born June 29, 1937, in West Des Moines, Iowa the youngest daughter of Ambrose and Lessie (Norman) Elliott. In 1955, Yvonne married her soul mate James Crumb and to this union were born three children Tarla Sherilynne, James McFrancis and Toni LeAnne. Yvonne began her
career at the Principal Financial Group in the late sixties and retired in 1999 as Senior Analyst of the Cost Containment Group Development Department.
Yvonne dearly loved her family and was devoted to them. In addition, Yvonne had a passion for helping others and it was evidenced by her work in the community and with various senior social service programs in the Des Moines (Iowa) area. She was a member and supporter of the Union
Baptist Church (Des Moines, Iowa); Past Worthy Matron of the Princess Zora Chapter #10 Order of the Eastern Star (Des Moines, Iowa); member of the “LT” Club (Des Moines, Iowa); and a local area Stock Investment Group (Des Moines, Iowa).
Preceding her in death were her parents (Ambrose and Lessie Elliott), four brothers (Ambrose Elliott Jr., Dallas Leon Elliott, Ben Elliott, and Shedrick “Russell” Elliott) and two sisters (Theresa Erma Jean Baker and Irene Smith).
She leaves not to mourn but to celebrate her life, her husband James McFrancis Crumb, Sr. (Sugar Land, TX); three children, Tarla Sherilynne Crumb (Sugar Land, TX), James McFrancis Crumb, Jr. (Denver, Co) and Toni LeAnne Crumb (Sugar Land, TX); three grandchildren, Brandon Thomas
(Los Angeles, CA), McKenzie Crumb (Des Moines, IA) and Semaj Crumb (Denver, CO); one sister, Doretha (Elliott) Townsell (Des Moines, IA); two sisters-in-law, Sandra (Ben) Elliott and Gertrude (Crumb) Johnson; two brothers-in-law, Willie (Irene) Smith and Lenard (Carroll Crumb) Stovall; and a
host of nieces, nephews and friends.
