Maria Hilyard of Quail Valley joyously
went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 27, 2007.
Maria was born on September 5, 1931. She was preceded in
death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Cpt. Joseph H.
Hilyard, her sons Mark and Paul, and her eldest brother
Karlheinz F¸ssenich. Maria, a devout believer in Jesus
Christ, loved her family, friends, and church. She was
deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by the many lives
she touched throughout her life. Maria leaves a great legacy
to her surviving family.
In the United States, she leaves her
children, Joe Hilyard, Eva Stead, and their families which
include her adoring daughters-in-law Susan Hilyard, Carol
Hilyard-Govan and Melissa Hilyard, 9 wonderful
grandchildren, and 4 precious great-grandchildren.
In Germany, she is survived by her
brothers Hans, Bernhard and Paul F¸ssenich, and their
families, along with cousins Herbert Stroh and Albert Kern,
and numerous other cousins, nieces and nephews for whom she
had such a deep love.
On August 30, a memorial service honoring Maria was
conducted by Pastor Curry Juneau at Quail Valley Church,
2303 Murphy Road, Missouri City, Texas 77459 (281.499.0594).
The family requests that gifts be presented to Quail Valley
Church for their Building Fund. The graveside service was
performed August 31 by Pastor Clarence Lee at Houston
National Cemetery.
