George Vickers, 71, of Sugar Land, passed away on Friday, November 16, 2007, in Sugar Land. He was born in Rosebud, Texas on January 10, 1936, to Alta Lee (Clark) and William Vickers.

His love for his wife was so deep they were best friends and enjoyed life to the fullest. He had a special bond with his grandson, Leif who will miss him daily and will be in his heart always. He was surrounded by many friends who loved him dearly; he loved hunting, fishing and traveling.

George is survived by his wife Martha “Marte” Vickers; daughter, Renee Yaeger, both of Sugar Land; sister and brother in-law, Wanda and Oscar Hall, of Kilgore, Texas; grandson, Leif Yaeger, of Sugar Land, and sister-in-law, Evelyn Harris. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alta Lee and William Vickers; three brothers, Henry, Jimmy and Don Vickers.

The pallbearers were Mike Young, Bo Anderson, Mace Harris, Vernon Hensarling, Bill Benoit and Joel Hall; Honorary pallbearers were Raymond Walker, Ronnie Engbrock, David and Steven Hall.
