Edward F. “ED” McMahon of Sugar Land, TX passed away on September 22, 2007. He was born in the Bronx, New York City on December 13, 1930.
Ed is survived by his loving wife Rosemary, after a wonderful romance of 57 years and their five children, Ned, Maryellen, Tracey Eppolito and husband Carl Joe, Thomas, Mark and seven loving grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Mrs. Patricia O’Kane and husband Dan, of
Stoney Point, New York and his brother, Dr. James McMahon and his wife Lijuan of New York City.
Ed graduated from Xavier H.S., in New York City, Villanova University with a BCE, City University of New York with an MBA and completed post graduate work at Stanford University Graduate School of Business on a Sloan fellowship.
He retired from a long and rewarding career with the Shell Oil Company and post retirement was employed with Atlantic Refinery Company, Soloman Associates and Kerr-McGee Refining and Marketing.
He wrote the book “Understanding Small Business”, a complete guide to small business.
In retirement he volunteered with CASA, Crisis Hotline and was a member of SCORE, Counselor’s to America’s Small Business. He taught at Junior College level and wrote many articles for The Fort Bend Business Journal in the area of small business.
Ed served twice in the U.S. Navy, before and during the Korean War and was a member of Knights of Columbus Council #4204.
Visitation with the family was Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at The Settegast-Kopf Co. at Sugar Creek (Williams Trace exit). A funeral mass will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 115 7th Street, Sugar Land, Tx.
