
Aubre Sue Packer and Joshua Ryan Adams
were united in marriage on August 20, 2004, at 8:00 p.m. at
Parasio Maravilla in Houston, Texas in a candlelight
ceremony, officiated by Phil Packer, father of the bride.
The grooms's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner at Ninfa's
at Sugar Creek.
Aubre is the daughter of Phil and Sue
Packer of Sugar Land, Texas where she graduated from Fort
Bend Baptist Academy in 1999 and represented Sugar Land in
the Miss Texas Teen Pageant in 1999. She is a senior at East
Texas Baptist University in Marshall, majoring in business.
Josh is the son of Joe Bill and Marsha
Adams of Jasper, Texas. He graduated from Jasper High School
in 2002 and is currently a religion major at ETBU. He is
employed with the work study program at ETBU and plays the
drums for praise and worship at Trinity Baptist Church in
Mt. Pleasant, Texas.
The bride wore a Matthew Christopher
design, a lovely a-line strapless silk and satin organza
with pleated lovers knot on the bodice and a silk taffeta
accordion pleated train. A mid-length veil, tiara and
chandelier earrings completed her ensemble. She carried a
bouquet of red roses, calla lilies and white tulips, with
crystals and greenery.
Abby Rivera of Houston, sister of the
bride, served as Maid of Honor. Bridesmaids were Paula
Lawrence, her college roommate of Marshall, Texas, Sonya
Packer, her sister-in-law, of Marquez, Texas, and her new
sister-in-law, Laura Street of Jasper. The bridesmaids wore
long silk black skirts with a white silk side wrapped
blouse, designed by Alfred Angelo and carried red rose
bouquets. The flower girls were Anna Belle Packer, niece of
the bride, of Marquez, Texas and Kahla Street, niece of the
groom of Jasper. They wore long black and white dresses with
rose crowns and carried white organza bags with red rose
petals.
Groomsmen were college friends, Jordan
Reese of Forney, Texas, Allen Ramirez of Marshall, Brad Edge
of Sulphur Springs and Josh Packer, brother of the bride, of
Marquez.
Howie Howeth, friend of the groom's
family and a youth director from Mt. Pleasant said the
prayer for the couple. Dr. Jeff Ward and Teresa Ward,
extended family members of the Packers, from Bakersfield,
California said the opening remarks and coordinated the
wedding.
The bride presented her new groom with
her True Love Waits ring and the groom sang his bride a song
during the lighting of the unity candle.
The couple honeymooned in Palm Springs,
California and reside in Marshall, Texas.
