Mr. and Mrs. Ron Booker of Sugar Land announce the engagement of their daughter, Melanie Lynn Booker, to Kyle Brandon Fry, son of Dr. and Mrs. Virgil Fry of Missouri City.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Larry and Wanelle Ligon of Corpus Christi and Novelene Booker of Houston, and the late Roy Booker. A graduate of Clements High School, she is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Abilene Christian University and will graduate with honors in May of 2006.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Fred and Billie Ellis of Dallas and Jack and Virginia Fry of Ballinger. A graduate of Elkins High School, he earned a Bachelor of Music degree in music education from Abilene Christian University in 2003 and is employed with Brook Mays Music Group in Abilene, TX.
