Miss Hillary Lynn Halford and Mr. Ryan Allen Watson were united in Holy Matrimony on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at six o’clock in the evening at Williams Trace Baptist Church in Sugar Land, Texas. The candlelight double-ring ceremony was officiated by Dr. Phil Lineberger. Scripture was read by Patsy and Jimmie Carroll. Music for the ceremony was provided by The Houston Children’s Chorus, Brian Granquist, organist, Scot R. Cameron, tenor, Logan Kavanaugh, trumpet and Johann Acuna, violin. The bride’s parents hosted a seated dinner and dance at The Sugar Land Marriott Town Square, with music by the band Password. On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at The Houstonian Golf Club. A bridesmaid luncheon was held at Brennan’s prior to the wedding and was hosted by Mrs. Emilynn Wilson, Mrs. Michele Dunn, and Mrs. Melissa Utley.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Dennis Edward Halford of Sugar Land, Texas. She is the granddaughter of the late Mrs. Oneeta Henderson and Mr. Dean Halford of Stephenville, Texas and the late Mrs. Mary Jo Berry and Mr. Speegle Berry of Palestine, Texas.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Allen Watson of Dallas, Texas. He is the grandson of Mrs. Joyce Henry Lovelace and the late Dr. Clarence Sparkman of Waco, Texas and the late Mr. and Mrs. Allen Ray Watson of Wichita Falls, Texas.
Presented in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a couture gown designed by Oscar de la Renta of New York. The strapless gown of silk white taffeta featured a sweetheart neckline with a fitted rouched dropped waist bodice and a satin white ribbon bow sash around the waistline. The full A-line skirt fell into a chapel circular train. To complement the gown, the bride wore a soft illusion cathedral veil and a silk white organza flower with Swarovski crystals designed by Toni Federici. The bride carried a bouquet of white peonies.
Serving the bride as Maid of Honor was Ashley Marie London. Bridesmaids were Cindy Lee Ann Carey, Amy Lynn Gallegos, Cara Carter Holloway, Melissa Watson Mehall, sister of the groom, Jennifer Lee Parsley, Sarah Diane Spain, Kelly Elizabeth Wilson, and Allison Watson Williams, sister of the groom. The junior bridesmaid was Abbey Elizabeth Utley, cousin of the bride. The bridesmaids wore a one shoulder cardinal silk dress designed by Lula Kate. Serving as flower girl was Madeline Kay Mehall, niece of the groom.
Serving the groom as best man was Adam Michael Cathey. Groomsmen included Coleman Cole Conkling, Jake Christian Griffin, Ryan Michael Hughes, Kelly McNeil Layne, Todd Andrew Mehall, brother-in-law of the groom, Andrew Byron Meyers, Timothy Adam Vitek, and Bryan Matthew Williams, brother-in-law of the groom. Honorary groomsman was Derrick Edward Halford, brother of the bride. Ushers were Connor Fitzgerald Dunn, Patrick Kelley Dunn, Jake Robert Utley, and Luke Wilson Utley, all cousins of the bride.
Hillary is a 2002 graduate of Clements High School in Sugar Land, Texas. She graduated cum laude in 2006 from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Science in Education, where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. In 2009, she received a Masters in Education from Southern Methodist University. She is currently employed as a teacher for The Presbyterian School in Houston, Texas. The bride is a provisional member of the Junior League of Houston.
Ryan is a 2001 graduate of Midway High School in Waco, Texas. He graduated in 2005 from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance, where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He is currently employed as an Assistant Vice President at Icon Bank of Texas in Houston and is pursuing an MBA in the fall at Houston Baptist University.
Following a honeymoon in Maui, Hillary and Ryan will reside in Houston with their dog Winston.
