Miss Sevie Mishel Dean and Mr. Neal Baldwin Nichols were united in marriage on Saturday, March 20th at six o’clock in the evening at Westbury United Methodist Church in Houston. The double ring ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Keefe Cropper. Music for the ceremony was provided by organist Sarah Winkle and soloist Clay Howell. Readings were delivered by Mr. Steve Stone and Mr. Jim Stone, uncles of the bride. A reception immediately followed at Union Station at Minute Maid Park with entertainment provided by The Eclipse Band and Orchestra. On the eve of the wedding the parents of the groom hosted a Rehearsal Dinner at the Cadillac Bar and Grill. Also Friday, Mrs. Janis Bane, and Ms. Sheri Ashby hosted the bridal luncheon at the Junior League of Houston Tea Room.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Joe Dean of Missouri City, Texas. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Sevie N. Stone and the late Mr. Felix W. Stone of Houston, Texas. She is also the granddaughter of Mrs. Edyce S. Dean and the late Leo C. Dean of Ida, Louisiana.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Barton Nichols of Beaumont, Texas. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. James I. Allison of Woodville, Texas and the late Mr. and Mrs. Howard G. Nichols of Beaumont, Texas.
Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore an off-white, strapless Pronovias gown made of Paris Garza. The bodice was adorned with soft layers of ruffles along the bustline, and the waistline was accented with Alençon lace. The lace trickled down her ball gown skirt amongst feminine vertical layers of flowing ruffles, which extended into her chapel length train. To complement, the bride wore an illusion tulle three-tier cathedral length veil with Alençon lace, worn by her mother and designed by Priscilla of Boston. For her something old she carried a handkerchief handmade by her great grandmother. For her something borrowed she carried a mother of pearl Bible from Jerusalem given to her by the groom’s mother that was also carried in her wedding. Her something blue was a label, with the name “Sevie” embroidered in blue, which her mother had in her wedding dress. Complementing her bridal ensemble, the bride wore satin peep toe pumps in her signature color of blush pink. The bridal bouquet was a soft round confection of blush ranunculus, pale pink majolica roses and blush peonies.
Serving the bride as her matron of honor was Mrs. Lyndsay Ferguson Lovell of St. Louis, Missouri, maid of honor Miss. Lauren Whitney Dyer of Nashville, Tennessee. Bridal attendants were Mrs. Stefani Stone Fitzgerald of Missouri City, TX, Mrs. Jeana Stone Johnson of Sugar Land, TX Miss. Natalie Kristine Prewitt, Miss. Stephanie Nicole Selaiden, Mrs. Kendall Chamberlain Spangler all of Houston, TX. The bridesmaids wore blush chiffon full length strapless gowns by Lula Kate.
Honor Attendants were Mrs. Sarah Mayer Jackson, Mrs. Rory Graham Jaggers, Mrs. Taryn Maxwell Peine, Mrs. Whitney Bruegel Russell all of Houston, TX, and Mrs. Jennifer Hall Nichols, of Beaumont, TX.
Serving the Groom as his best man was Mr. Adam Barclay Nichols, brother of the groom. Groomsmen included Mr. Kelsey Caleb Dean, Mr. Leroy Jordan Faulk, Mr. Thomas Cullen Hise, all of Houston, TX, Mr. James Barton Nichols, and Mr. Luke Allison Nichols, brothers of the Groom, Beaumont, TX. Serving as ushers were Mr. Clark Davis Arnold of Houston, TX, Mr. Matthew Hogan Ashabranner of Beaumont, TX, Mr. Curtis Wayne Fitzgerald II of Missouri City, TX, Mr. Anthony Jeffrey Johnson of Sugar Land, TX, Patrick Macon Ware, Beaumont, TX, Mr. William Lewis Condery, Houston, TX. Ring Bearers were Mr. Stone Forrest Fitzgerald, cousin of the Bride, Missouri City, TX and Mr. Munro Barton Nichols, nephew of the Groom, Beaumont, TX.
Sevie is a 1999 graduate of Lawrence E. Elkins in Missouri City, TX. She attended Texas A & M University in College Station and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture Science Education. She also is a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. Currently Sevie is a Training and Change Management Liaison for Stallion Oilfield Services in Houston, TX.
Neal is a 1996 graduate of Monsignor Kelley in Beaumont, TX. He is a graduate of Baylor University where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration with a double major in Entrepreneurship and Real Estate. He is also a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity and was a member of the Baylor baseball team. Neal is currently a Construction Manager with Pelican Builders in Houston, TX.
Following their honeymoon in Belize, the couple will reside in Houston with their dog Beau.
