Miss Carrie Elizabeth Jackson Weds Mr. Ralph Willard Nesmith III

Miss Carrie Elizabeth Jackson and Mr. Ralph Willard Nesmith III (Trey) were united in Holy Matrimony on Saturday, November 20, 2010, at half after five in the evening at Trinity Episcopal Church in Galveston, Texas. The double ring ceremony was officiated by The Reverend William Fowler. Dr. Phillip Lineberger of Sugar Land Baptist Church delivered the Homily. Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at The Tremont Ballroom, with music by Fried Ice Cream. On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Willie G’s.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen E. Jackson of Sugar Land, Texas. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Daphne Jackson and the late Mr. Earl Jackson of Sugar Land, Texas and the late Mr. and Mrs. Willie Lang of Angleton, Texas.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael W. Nesmith of Houston, Texas. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Willard Nesmith, Jr. of Houston, Texas and the late Mr. and Mrs. Neil McDevitt of Houston, Texas.

Presented in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a couture gown designed by Oscar de la Renta. The strapless gown of ivory Silk Faille featured a slightly scooped neckline with a fitted bodice which was accented with ruched detailing around the waistline. The full ball gown skirt fell into a soft sweep train with a bubble hem line. To complement the gown, the bride wore a cathedral length, ribbon-edged veil designed by Toni Federici.

Serving the bride as Maid of Honor was Miss Jennifer Parsley. Bridesmaids were Miss Ashley Brown, Miss Meaghan Gallacher, Miss Danielle Shapiro, Miss Blair Smith, Mrs. Stephanie Stegemeier, and Mrs. Ashley Sundstrom. The bridesmaids wore matching slate gray organza gowns from Priscilla of Boston.

Honor attendants included Mrs. Sarah Goodman, cousin of the bride, Mrs. Lara Irvin, Mrs. Brooke Le Grue, cousin of the groom, Miss Catherine Parsley and Miss Leanne Rosenfield. Miss Ellen Henry, cousin of the bride, Miss Emily Henry, cousin of the bride, and Miss Katelyn Nesmith, cousin of the groom served as flower girls. Mr. Milam Henry, cousin of the bride, served as ring bearer

Mr. Neil Nesmith, brother of the groom, served as Best Man. Groomsmen included Mr. Sean Austin, Mr. Stephen Frankmann, Mr. John Irvin, Mr. Bryan Jackson, brother of the bride, Mr. Jason Lagunas and Mr. Ryan Nesmith, cousin of the groom. Ushers were Dr. Ryan Goepfert, Mr. Mason LeGrue, Mr. John McDevitt, uncle of the groom, and Lt. Bradley Nesmith, cousin of the groom.

Carrie is a 2002 graduate of Clements High School in Sugar Land, Texas. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Deaf Education. In 2010 she received her Masters of Education with a Specialization in Educational Administration from Concordia University. Carrie is currently employed at First Colony Middle School in the Fort Bend Independent School District teaching Deaf Education.

Trey is a 1998 graduate of Stratford High School in Houston, Texas. He attended the University of Houston, the University of Texas and is a graduate of the Realtor Institute. He is currently employed as a realtor with Martha Turner Properties.

Following a honeymoon in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, Carrie and Trey will reside in Houston, Texas.
