Miss Janie Rayann Baker
Weds Mr. Casey Dean Shoffit

Miss Janie Rayann Baker and Mr. Casey Dean Shoffit were united in marriage on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at seven o’clock in the evening at the Sugar Land First United Methodist Church. The double-ring ceremony was officiated by the Reverend Martin Nicholas with music provided by organist, Mr. Brian Granquist and by harpist, Miss Meredith Arnold.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a dinner reception at the Riverbend Country Club in Sugar Land.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl R. Baker of Sugar Land. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. William D. Baker of Sugar Land and Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Torrence of Nacogdoches, Texas. The groom is the son of Ms. Patricia Shoffit of Sugar Land and Mr. Michael Shoffit of El Paso, Texas. He is the grandson of Mrs. June Snyder of Houston, Texas and the late Mr. Arthur Snyder and Mr. C.D. Shoffit of El Paso, Texas and the late Mrs. Nathalee Shoffit.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a couture Oleg Cassini gown with a chapel length train. To complement her gown, the bride wore a tiara and carried a hand-tied bouquet of red and white roses.

Miss Heather Hendrickson of Houston, Texas served as the Maid of Honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Meredith Arnold of Sugar Land, Texas, Mrs. Barbara Baker Jones of Sugar Land, Texas, Miss Jill Crawford of New York City, New York and Miss Kristin Ott of Austin, Texas.

Serving as the flower girl was Miss Lily Grace Baker of Missouri City, Texas.

Mr. Craig Shoffit of New York City, New York served as his brother’s Best Man. Groomsmen were Mr. Cody Baker of Sugar Land, Texas, Mr. Ricky Lyons of Houston, Texas, Mr. Todd Halbert of New Orleans, Louisiana and Mr. Tommy Wolfenberger of Houston, Texas.

Serving as the ring bearer/page was Master Nicholas Baker of Missouri City, Texas.

Serving as ushers were Mr. Austin Baker of Sugar Land, Texas, Mr. David Baker of Sugar Land, Mr. Benjamin Baker of Missouri City and Mr. Hewitt Woolner of Houston, Texas.

The bride and groom are both Golf Professionals at River Oaks Country Club in Houston, Texas.

Following a honeymoon to Playa de Carmen, Mexico, the couple now reside in their new home in Sugar Land, Texas.
