Winter Madness

Procrastination is a beautiful thing, especially over Thanksgiving break. We all know we have work to do, and we wait until Saturday or Sunday to get it done. Of course I am talking about the general population and not myself.

Something you may not know about Christmas is that we students have final exams right after we get off from that break. We are just given all of these excuses to procrastinate, how could we not take advantage of them?

I love winter time because I have the chance to browse websites and look for some nice gifts just for me. Of course Christmas is all about giving too so I look for nice things for some others too. During my browsing I found some really original ideas, such as the wallet shaped to fit perfectly into dadís front pocket, or the swivel seat cushion mom has always wanted for her car. There are some useless gift ideas, and of all the useless ideas that I have had I think that socks were the best. I picked out a nice pair of socks for my sister one year, of course making fun of the fact that my mom always feels the need to give her practical gifts. Turns out she actually liked the socks and wore them a lot, but they had turtles on them so they were fun.

The best part of Christmas when I was little was getting a new Barbie doll. I had every kind of Barbie; Princess Barbie, one that was a fairy, Pocahontas, the list goes on. Of course I had male cousins who loved to torture my poor dolls, so most of them have not survived through the years.

This year I am looking for gadgets, specifically a new phone. I have stubbornly been using the same worn out phone for a few months now, because I was determined to wait until Christmas to get a new one. There are a lot of new models that I have found recently, so I am glad I waited.

I was very disappointed to hear of the Christmas madness that had everyone literally running over each other to get in the door this year. I think we have all learned that it would be in our best interest to look for deals online in the safety of our home.

As the excitement for another break from school builds I would recommend looking up unusual Christmas presents, because you can find some really funny stuff.
