‘Quantum of Solace’ continues the high octane adventures of James Bond from ‘Casino Royale’. Picking up literally hours after the previous film left off, after being betrayed by Vesper, the woman he loved, 007 fights the urge to make his
latest mission personal. Having captured Mr. White, and in pursuing his determination to uncover the truth, Bond and ‘M’ interrogate Mr. White who reveals the organization which blackmailed Vesper to steal Bond’s casino winnings is far more complex and dangerous than anyone had imagined.
Forensic intelligence links an MI6 traitor to a bank account in Haiti where a case of mistaken identity introduces Bond to the beautiful but feisty Camille, a woman who has her own vendetta. Camille leads Bond straight to Dominic Greene, a ruthless businessman and major force
within the mysterious criminal organization known only as ‘Quantum’.
On a mission that leads him to Austria, Italy and South America, Bond discovers that Greene, conspiring to take total control of one of the world’s most important natural resources, is forging a deal with the exiled General Medrano. Using his associates in the organization, and
manipulating his powerful contacts within the CIA and the British government, Greene promises to overthrow the existing regime in Bolivia, giving General Medrano control of the country in exchange for a seemingly barren piece of land which is, however, a main source of the South American water
supply. In a minefield of treachery, murder and deceit, Bond allies with old friends in a battle to uncover the truth. As he gets closer to finding the man responsible for the betrayal of Vesper, 007 must keep one step ahead of the CIA, the terrorists, and even ‘M’ herself, to unravel Greene’s
sinister plan and stop Quantum from getting its way.
Although I am a huge fan of the James Bond franchise, this particular installment does leave a little to be desired. The story is a bit disjunct and some performances are overacted. I admit it was nice to get to know M a bit more on a personal level. Daniel Craig is still arguably
the best James Bond, however Quantum was hard pressed to equal the energy and enthusiasm of Casino Royale.

is abruptly interrupted when her father (Chris O’Donnell) loses his car dealership and must leave Cincinnati to look for work. Kit and her mother Margaret (Julia Ormond) are left to manage on their own, growing vegetables, selling eggs and even taking in an assortment of boarders including an

impoverished companions. Kit, who always has her antennae out for a good news story, convinces her new friends to take her to see the hobo camp for herself and writes an article that creates a sympathetic portrait of the camp’s residents. But when Kit’s mother and their boarders become the

WU: The Story of the Wu Tang Clan - Paramount
The Wu-Tang Clan arose in 1993 to change hip-hop forever, with complex rhymes, dissonant soundscapes, and a personal mythology inspired by martial-arts flicks. The nine-person rap crew from Staten Island was an A-Team of verbal warfare--with GZA, Method Man, Ghostface Killah,
and others contributing a unique flavor to the mix. And while some rappers become embarrassing by their second album, Wu-Tang continued to produce shockingly original music for a period unrivaled by other artists. Narrated by Gerald “Gee-Bee” Barclay, this documentary examines the history of
the Wu, their rise and fall, and what the future may hold for one of the greatest teams in hip-hop.

HAWAII FIVE-O: Season Five - Paramount
One of TV’s longest-running crime dramas, the 1970s television series Hawaii Five-O captivated audiences with its smart and stylish take on the standard policier formula. Filmed entirely on the Hawaiian Islands, the action-packed series followed the crime-fighting adventures
of an elite state-police squad anchored by quintessential tough guy Steve McGarrett (Jack Lord) and his detective team of Danny “Danno” Williams (James MacArthur), Chin Ho Kelly (Kam Fong), and Kono Kalakaua (Zulu). Almost single-handedly rewriting the book on police dramas, the series
distinguished itself with intricate plotting, inventive cinematography, exotic locations, and, of course, an indelible theme song and timeless catchphrase (“Book ‘em, Danno!”). This collection presents the iconic series’ fifth season in its entirety.
