A Season to Give Thanks
Whispering winds and chilly air can only mean one thing, Winter Break of course. As well as we have adapted to humid weather it is time to pick up our heavy coats and step outside into the freezer that is Houston at the
moment. My weekend was extremely fun because I loaded it with lots of sleeping and movies. As we enter into winter time, it has become even more entertaining to sit back and watch a movie or two. Comedies are my personal favorite because I love to laugh.
As we leave election time and other holidays lets not forget the troops at this time of year who are working hard for their country. As well as the quiet of winter, we all have Thanksgiving to look forward to, which is coming up really fast. Thanksgiving is a little different for
me because I am not originally from the United States. My first Thanksgiving meal was actually celebrated in Aberdeen, Scotland. It was hosted by a true American family though, and they had all the dishes and sides that would be expected. I knew Thanksgiving was just my kind of holiday because
everyone gets to sit down together and I get to enjoy a feast of delicious food. After living here for a few years I can truly say that America has some of the best holidays because everyone comes together and everything is peaceful for that day.
As well as celebrations, I also have the end of the first semester of school to look forward to, which we are all counting down. I constantly remind my classmates how many weeks are left until Winter break. There are so many great new gadgets out this winter season that I cannot
wait to check out. All the touch screen that you can twist and flip are really cool.
As this week wraps up we are all excited to lounge around for a week and work off all the turkey or vegetables we are going to eat. Next week will be a great one, because it will give me lots of quality family time, and quality sleeping time. Hope you have had a great week and are also looking
forward to the short breaks we have coming up.
