I am so close to graduation I can feel it, but not close enough to start marking it off on my calendar. It is the time of year, yet again, when most people are worried about what they might wear for homecoming, or where they will go, or who
they will go with. I have had my date sorted for a while, so I just let everything else fall into place. Of course there were a few bumps along the way, and I was almost disheartened once. It is my senior year though; no bad event can keep me from enjoying homecoming.
Homecomings, which are a U.S. custom, are basically a little salute to the football team in the form of dinner and a dance. It can become a very pricey custom, so that is why you always look out for bargains to keep the cost down. I found my dress luckily, now that would have been
a pain if I did not have one the week before. It should be fun, but not as fun as prom will be. Prom is the official “you’re about to graduate!” dance.
Of course along with high school football there is pro football going on, which I do not know too much about, but enough to support my team, despite some embarrassing let downs. I won’t say which team, but it is a Texas team. There is nothing worse than defending a team that loses
with an embarrassing defeat at literally the last second. My enthusiasm is always appreciated though.
As exciting as all these things are, for now we are left with not much to look forward to because there are no breaks from school for a very long time. Hopefully homecoming will tide me over until winter break. Have a wonderful rest of the week, and enjoy the football season.
