Of the hours
and hours of television coverage of someone that murdered
their spouse IN INDIANA. Why does this warrant such coverage
and why do people watch this? These networks would not be
reporting on these cases if people were not watching.
Okay,
coverage of the girl that disappeared without a trace in
Aruba I understand. There are numerous reason we should take
note of this case... a school trip, foreign travel in
general, etc., etc.
Even a mass
murderer on a college campus should be well publicized, but
PLEASE dispense with the ‘why did he do it’ because I
already know why. He was a sick, twisted, evil individual
and that is it.
Now, I hear
that the University has settled with all the families of
those killed. Did Luby’s payoff the families when that
shooter walked into the Luby’s in Killeen and shot all
those people?
I am sick and
tired of payoffs and lawsuits when some sicko murders and
then victim’s families (lawyers) get money from someone
other than the perpetrator. Oh yeah, the perpetrators
usually kill themselves and therefore can’t pay. I don’t
expect the local hamburger joint to have metal detectors
and/or armed guards at the door to ensure that I am safe in
their business.
Isn’t that
the most basic function of local, state and federal
governments? I think that it is strange that you can’t
even make a threatening statement about the President of the
United States without being questioned or arrested, but for
some reason local police can’t seem to keep an estranged
husband/boyfriend from slaughtering his wife/ex
wife/girlfriend. I hear frequently that a violent, abusive,
woman beater who has an actual history of abuse can’t be
prevented from killing someone.
Maybe we
should accept the fact that no person, government, agency,
etc. is more responsible than you are for your own
protection. That includes dark alleys or hurricanes. |
