Of idiots driving on the same road as my family. You can hardly drive past a freeway interchange without seeing someone STOPPED two lanes away from the exit ramp and making other people stop and risking these people’s lives so they can shoot across the other lanes to the exit ramp.

Let me clue you in. It is ILLEGAL and you should be ticketed for every conceivable offense possible. If there were enough traffic cops on the road to ticket every offender of this type of behavior, then maybe these people wouldn’t drive or they would stop the behavior.

I’ve got an idea. GO AROUND, you idiot! Yes, it will be an inconvenience but you may save a life. When you don’t know where you are going and you are in the wrong lane - KEEP DRIVING!! Take the next exit. Make a U-turn and try again. Call it a practice run.

Another reason it bothers me is that we should have more cops running traffic on every roadway, every freeway, everywhere. Any tiny infraction and an alert police officer should be pulling you over, run your plate and your drivers license. I am not advocating writing a citation every single time (heaven knows I would be written up) but just a “legal” excuse to check drivers out.

I hear people complain all the time “they should go catch a rapist.” I’ve heard law enforcement quote a statistic that “almost” 30% (or some high percentage) of criminals are caught during minor traffic stops.

I think a “sniper” in the northeastern United States was apprehended in West Texas a few years back at a rest stop by an alert state trooper that spotted a “suspicious” vehicle. Or was it the railroad serial killer, I don’t remember.
