To be your own boss

In a world of doís and doníts, managers and rules, deadlines to reach, we can all dream of the days when we take control. One day I sat down and while watching some television entertainment and pondered about how nice it would be to be my own boss. Iím not talking about just making daily decisions, I mean delegating your own jobs, giving yourself raises, and deciding your own pay. Right now, the closest thing a lot of us have to a boss is our parents, But we all know if we were in charge we would handle business a lot differently.

Now, letís say I owned an ice cream company, which would be a good deal, because to me that spells endless supplies of ice cream. As well as having a good supply of sugar for my lifetime. I could also work marketing, which is a great position to be in. Plus, it would be so easy to market to young people seeing as I am one and I would be the girl on top, so I could pass marketing ideas straight away.

Pay is a whole separate topic for this ice cream company because I could only pay myself based on how successful my ice cream company is. There definitely wouldnít be any favoritism because I would be my favorite employee regardless of the success of my projects. If I were my own boss, let me tell you, I would be worker of the month twelve times a year.

Planning would be the most mind blowing part of it because, well, schedules are not my favorite part of being in control of projects. Of course I would also have to sit down and read proposals and put a lot of work into making the grade to please my investors, and one of my favorite Spanish speakers Mrs. B knows that sometimes making that time isnít my idea of fun.

Being my own boss would be fun, but I think I would hire a few people to be in the background and do some of the less thrilling work involved in running the ice cream company.

All teenagers like to imagine how fun it would be to replace all the bosses in our life, parents etc. and run our lives for a little while. Running an ice cream company is the best example I can think of that can help me fully express all the little responsibilities it would be fun to have.

Wait... responsibilities... on second thought, Iíll let someone else run the ice cream companies in the world for a few years and continue to reminisce about how nice it would be to be head honcho for a while.
