Hobby Time!

The sun is beaming through the clouds, the air is not so bitter anymore and the world is waking up to clearer days. High school students like me are waiting for Spring Break or an odd day off now and then. This is also the time when all the stores start turning shades of pink and red and the walls are lined with fluffy bears and candies, which all spells Valentineís Day! Yes this is also a reminder for all the guys that havenít figured out the hints yet.

A good motivation to get everything done right now is the almost nice weather weíre getting, so we should all take advantage of it! It is a great time for hobbies, especially outdoor hobbies. A favorite and recent hobby of mine is running, and I think itís a great way to relieve stress on weeks that you may have Sat Prep/Finals/general life going on, but thatís just an example. The great thing about running that I have come across is that people either love it or canít stand it. I have heard it being described as freeing and calming, almost meditation. On the other hand some people compare it to sitting and slamming your legs on a brick wall.

A good place to start is always the gym because there are just so many available exercise options. You can run, lift, work on your core, do spinning, yoga or try them all out like a little workout buffet. If none of those suits you just work up some sweat running around all the stations and stand at the drinking fountain with a warped look on your face, as far as everyone else knows you couldíve run a marathon on the tread mill.

Either way, thatís just some food for thought to get you on a good track for enjoying the upcoming weather. Also, be on the look out for those cute little teddy bears and I know thereís going to be some scrambling for restaurant reservations in the upcoming weeks. Itís not too big of a deal to most of us girls, just recognize that Valentines Day exists and you should be solid. Enjoy the weather and I hope you use some of my expert gym tips, yes; I will be looking out for all of you by the drinking fountains!
