Sniffles

I seem to be going with the universal theme of the week and this week is definitely the sniffles. They don’t classify as being sick because you can still function and carry out daily tasks, just not as well. As Ellen DeGeneres said when she aired a show obviously under the weather, “the show must go on...” and so it will. This also works into the time of the year because we all know we can’t slow down, there’s just way too much to do.

The great thing about being under the weather is the special treatment that comes with it, along with the tasty throat soother candies. It’s also a time when there can be absolutely nothing going on, but it’s ok, because no one wants you to overwork your stuffed little head. I’ve been all over the world and it doesn’t matter what part of the country you’re in at this time of the year, everyone’s got some small form of the sniffles.

Lately I’m armed with a little pack of tissues just in case a fit of sneezes were to sneak up on me. The tissue companies must do really well this time of year. Even if they don’t help any it eases my mind to know that I’ll be pulling them out of a pretty scented tissue box. It’s about time they fancied tissues up a bit anyways, its good to have some variety, just in case I’m feeling especially creative one day.

The sniffles are not debilitating, they’re not too much of a nuisance either, they’re just a good way to catch up on Seinfeld, or the news, whatever tickles your fancy. I know we will all get through this week just fine, as long as Halls keeps making fruity candies and the tissue market keeps pumping out new ideas for our sensitive red noses.
