DVD Picks
DREAMGIRLS: BluRay - Dreamworks

The Golden Globe best picture of the year and Academy Awards winner, Dreamgirls is based on the 1981 Broadway musical about three black female soul singers (a loosely based story of the Supremes) who successfully cross over to the pop charts. This is one of the few Broadway shows that was actually better on the big screen than it was on the stage. This film adaptation includes the original Broadway songs and several new songs that you will enjoy. Dreamgirls has great music, drama, comedy, and great acting to boot! This is entertainment at its best—make sure you get this Blu-Ray disc for your collection. The transfer on this 2.35:1 ratio 1080P disc is incredible. The images are near perfect and this disc will really shine on your 1080P monitor. The Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack is fantastic! You will think that you are at a live concert right in your own home. There are two discs in this DVD set that include a host of bonus features to keep you entertained.

DEJA VU: BluRay - Touchstone

Called in to recover evidence after a horrific explosion, Federal agent Doug Carlin (Denzel Washington) is taken to a top secret government lab that uses a time shifting device to help prevent crime. But can it change the past? Negotiate every mind bending twist and turn with visually spectacular 1080p, while the walls tremble around you in 5.1 48 KHz, 16 bit uncompressed audio. You will have blast experiencing this fantastic film over and over again.

THAT 70’s SHOW: Season Six - Fox

Fondly commemorating and gently poking fun at the trends, fashions, and attitudes that made the decade of the 1970s so distinct, That 70’s Show chronicles the rites of passage of a group of teens growing up in the Wisconsin suburbs. Eric Forman (Topher Grace) lives with his parents, his no-nonsense dad, Red (Kurtwood Smith), and his somewhat loopy mother, Kitty (Debra Jo Rupp), and hangs out with his sometimes girlfriend, Donna (Laura Prepon), cheerleader Jackie (Mila Kunis), hunky Kelso (Ashton Kutcher), conspiracy theorist Hyde (Danny Masterson), and the clueless exchange student Fez (Wilmer Valderrama). The show revolves around the ever-shifting social dynamics of the teens and their families, and despite the silliness of the sitcom situations, the show touches on serious issues (absent fathers, marital problems), and at times creates a surprising poignancy. In the sixth season, Eric and Donna debate where to go to college, while Kelso tries to become a cop.

THE GIRLS NEXT DOOR: Season Two - Fox

Get an uncensored look at Hugh Hefner’s buxom blondes in this reality series. After the White House, the Playboy Mansion is America’s most famous home, and this show gives a glimpse at the lives of beautiful residents Holly, Bridget, and Kendra. The second season of the sexy show features Hef’s girlfriends at his epic 80th birthday party, their wild tour through Europe, and Kendra’s birthday trip to Vegas. Other season’s highlights include their Playboy shoot and the christening of the brand new Playboy Club. This release includes every episode of the second season, plus commentary from the three gorgeous girls.

THREE - Fox

Upon completing his graduate thesis, Kevin Parson is forced to face his own dark past when he is targeted by the psychopathic Riddle Killer. Following a terrifying encounter, in which he is given seconds to “confess his sin” before his car is blown sky high. Kevin meets up with a criminal psychologist whose brother was killed in a similarly explosive confrontation. Together they must solve Kevin’s mystifying riddle and uncover his connection to the murderer before he strikes again. Are you a fan of serial suspense? This film is definately for you.
