Gillen won’t be able to win for losing
There for a minute it appeared that GOP
Chairman Gary Gillen and the party he serves were finally in
agreement. The lawsuit that was filed after Gillen formed a
PAC to handle the funds for the annual Lincoln Day Dinner
was for all intents and purposes over. The executive board
members who filed the suit and Gillen, who filed a counter
suit, also had come to an agreement to the proceeds of the
fundraiser to go to the party’s general fund.
Then the same executive members that
apparently keep undermining Gillen at every turn started
complaining about a portion of the fundraising money being
used to pay Gillen’s legal tab for defending himself and his
PAC after the group of executive board members filed the
lawsuit.
It just doesn’t seem like Gillen is going
to be able to win for losing in this division of the party.
The real losers, if the discord isn’t resolved, will be the
Republican voters in Fort Bend County. Gillen agreed saying
there isn’t a day that goes by that a “real Republican”
doesn’t send him an e-mail or walk up to him and say “keep
doing what you are doing, we appreciate it.” He says that
encouragement keeps him going full steam ahead.
As far as that legal bill is concerned—it
wouldn’t be there except for the fact that litigation was
filed against Gillen from within. So, it seems only fair
that those who filed the litigation might want to take care
of the bill. They might also want to take their own survey
on the general membership and get with the program.
Shelly Sekula Gibbs and her e-mails
I don’t really know how in the world I
got on Shelly Sekula Gibbs e-mail list, but boy am I! That
woman is so irritating that every time she sends out a
stupid e-mail touting her latest all American endeavors, I
feel like someone is pulling their fingernails against a
blackboard ... in other words I want to scream.
I personally wish she wouldn’t campaign
for office on a daily basis for the next two years and fill
my e-mail box with over inflated claims to fame. It is
getting totally ridiculous.
