...of Democrats that don’t see a tax they don’t like. The current speaker of the House of Representatives is the first woman speaker in history, and just like the President she will make history in more than one way. Thank God for Pete Olson and other sensible congressmen and congresswomen that vote the opposite of any bill that she approves.
While Bush was in office my democrat friends quipped, Democrats tax and spend, but Republicans borrow and spend. I guess they just dismiss the 40 years that Democrats controlled the House of Representatives and taxed and spent and still deficit spent (and ran up a national debt). It took Republican control of Congress in 1994 to submit budgets that were deficit neutral and/or led to a surplus. President Clinton was not responsible for the surplus and certainly not Democrats.
Republicans that voted for hope and change because they claimed they were fiscal conservatives should take one look at what this President wants to do with the money paid back from the Troubled Asset Relief Program or TARP. Some of the large financial institutions are prepared or already have paid back their share of the bailout, which is reported to be as much as $200 billion. Obama wants to turn around and SPEND it. He doesn’t want to pay down the debt or reduce the deficit; instead he wants to spend it.
Nancy Pelosi on the other hand wants to increase your taxes. You see we are not paying enough for these pinheads? She wants to tax every financial transaction because, I guess, the 35% corporate income tax is not enough. That is on top of a Value Added Tax or VAT which is similar to a national sales tax. Those that have proposed a national sales tax also known as the “Fair Tax”, only intend to enact it as a replacement for the federal income tax, but not Nancy and her liberal buddies.
Let’s not forget the proposed “war tax”. Are these people serious? The federal government passed the income tax (16th Amendments) in 1913 as a way to pay for the World War One. So these Democrats in Congress want a war tax on top of our war tax.
For all you RINOs that voted for hope and change, your fiscal conservative vote elected a president responsible for more federal spending than every past administration combined.
We need to cut the amount of time Congress is in session. There is no reason for them to be there more than three or four months a year. The rest of the time they can be at their desk in their district where we can walk in Monday through Friday and give them a piece of our mind.
The media and 24-hour cable news channels would be vehemently opposed to this; therefore we know it is something we the people should want. The media pinheads need to sit around covering minutia of government. You see, lobbyists for every industry and union can get face time real easy when all the rats are in a confined area. If they are in their district WE get face time and lobbyist can only make phone calls, unless they want to fly all over the country
