A couple traveling in a Mazda a week ago Tuesday in the Commonwealth Estates subdivision stopped and robbed a crew of their trade tools.
Shortly after lunch Sugar Land police responded to a robbery on Leigh Court in Commonwealth. According to reports, the victims told police a white male had pulled a pistol and robbed them of their lawn care equipment. The victims told police after taking their equipment, the man got back into his Mazda and drove off.
Fortunately, the victims were able to provide police with a good description of the suspects, their vehicle, and a partial license plate. In less than hour police located the suspect vehicle traveling east on US 90A near Schlumberger. The vehicle was stopped and the suspects were positively identified by the victims. Pawn tickets for the lawn equipment were recovered from the suspect’s person.
Both the man driving and his female partner were arrested and charged with aggravated robbery. Other charges are expected as the investigation has led to other crimes believed to have been perpetrated by this pair. Both suspects are Houston residents; the male is 24 the female, 23.
The case remains under investigation and no further information was available.
