Rosenberg police responded to a kick style burglary at a home on Rainswept Pass Lane in the Summer Lakes subdivision Friday around 10 a.m.
According to assistant police chief Dallis Warren, the homeowner heard someone knocking at the front door. When the resident did not answer the door fast enough, a man kicked it in. According to Warren, when the suspect heard a baby crying and a television on, he realized that someone was home. During all the commotion, the suspect was seen by the homeowner fleeing in a dark blue or black Chevrolet SUV of which the homeowner was able to get the license plate.
Responding officers located the SUV in the nearby Tara subdivision. Warren said the driver of the SUV was positively identified by the homeowner as the man who kicked the door in. Twenty year old Jerel Igboji of Richmond was arrested and charged with burglary.
