The soon to be Precinct 3 annex facility has finally progressed to the point that they officially turned dirt this week.
If you remember correctly, this facility was planned for two years ago but one set back after another has plagued the project.
Eventually this is going to be a great annex for those living in the Katy portion of Fort Bend County. The facility, which will be located at 22333 Grand Corner Drive, will house a Precinct 3 full service annex, tax office, constable’s office, justice of the peace, tax office and a sheriff’s substation.
I hate to sound redundant, but Halloween is no longer the innocent night out most of us experienced as children. Threats of all kinds lurk in the night time darkness from traffic to predators. Precautions must be taken to make sure the night is a safe outing for little ones and those teens that still hang on to “one more year” of trick or treating.
Please do all the things recommended to insure your child’s safety. Reflective clothing and an adult supervisor are the two most important suggestions that are given each year.
When the candy is collected, make it a family event to go through the whole stash, piece by piece, and inspect the treats before the little ones are allowed to consume it.
We spent many hours on the floor with mounds of candy during our inspection routines and we never had even the mildest of tummy aches, so apparently this works.
Have fun and be safe.
