Recently a Richmond man spent a couple of different days threatening to jump off the Brazos River Bridge. While that could tug at your heart strings, like a country song, don’t let the wave of emotion take you over. See he was avoiding the consequences for domestic violence.
The first time he threatened he was just sitting on the edge of the bridge, one leg thrown over the side, talking on his cell phone and arguing with police. That incident was resolved without much fanfare. Then a couple of days later, he was back. This time …on his horse!
Yep, you read that right, the four legged type, the kind that keep you from having to walk.
There he was sitting astride his horse on the apex of the Brazos River Bridge threatening to jump, and take his nag with him … over the edge and into the river.
Now, mind you, this is all in the midst of afternoon traffic which has caused the Bridge to be closed. Even if you're not from around here, you know - if you can’t get across the Brazos, you’re stuck.
Domestic violence, animal cruelty, and impeding traffic! …somebody save the horse, throw him over and open up the bridge!
… beer for the horses"
