Saturday, a Sugar Land couple arrived at the police station asking for their assistance in dealing with their teenage son who had been absent from the home for days without permission. A runaway report was already on file with police.
According to authorities, when the teen arrived home he kicked in the front door of the family home motivating the parents to seek police intervention and their personal safety.
Police went to the residence in the Chimney Stone subdivision and made contact with the teenager. During the interaction with police, the teen became aggressive and assaulted the responding officers. The teenager was eventually taken into custody and delivered to the juvenile detention facility in Richmond.
The 16 year old teen is facing charges of criminal mischief, resisting arrest, assault and harassment of public servant.
