...of this extremist, radical president. Please bring back Bill Clinton and a responsible congress. You know, like the conservatives that balanced the budget in the 90’s. A stained blue dress, lying about material information in a civil lawsuit, aerial bombing of aspirin factories, lost Rose Law Firm billing records, granting presidential pardons to fugitives from justice, Whitewater investigations, etc., etc. For a complete list of President Clinton’s crime family go to www.ClintonMemorialLibrary.com. I’ll take any or all of this over this current inexperienced lackey.

I watched the governor from Arkansas debate Jerry Brown and the rest of the democratic primary contenders in 1991-92 and at the end of the debate said to myself, that Clinton guy never answered one question with a straight answer. Lo and behold he was the democrat’s pick where he followed up with, “I will have the most ethical administration ever.” Really?
All throughout Obama’s campaign he said, “I will have the most transparent administration in history.” Really? I don’t recall Bush “43” ever making any of these types of promises. Even Bush 41’s promise of no new taxes was more of a pocketbook issue. Clinton and Obama assert these ethical-type promises with the insinuation that the previous administration was just the opposite.

This president hires radical, extremists to serve as czars that are not confirmed by the Senate but serve at his pleasure. Obama goes on five Sunday morning news shows and refuses to be interviewed by Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday. Then, this past week, the president’s chief of staff and his chief advisor, both make appearances on news shows to opine that Fox News is not a news organization but “selects its news for ratings!” Are these people serious?

If something “big” happened in Fort Bend County and the county judge would not return our reporter’s phone calls but talked to every other local media, I would call that abuse of his office.

Obama has a problem telling the truth (or completing sentences). When he said, ‘I will not sign a plan that adds one dime to our deficit either now or in the future - period.’ He left off, ‘without adding taxes that hopefully offset the INCREASES in the budget.’ Can you believe this guy? One or two trillion dollars on new health care spending will be offset by a trillion or two dollars in new taxes. You’ve heard me say before... We can’t afford this!
First they will immediately cut Medicare $500 billion and raise taxes another $500 billion, but they will not spend a penny in any new health care spending for the first 3-4 years. That’s called front loading the taxes and back loading the spending. Nice trick to lower the “apparent cost” from Congressional Budget Office scoring that only covers years one through ten. They just won’t tell you what the cost will be in years 11-20. Hardly transparent.

In response to Sheila Finch’s letter on 10-07-09, thank you for reading my opinion Sheila, and I’m sorry if my language is insulting to you. I figure those most appalled by my language are my high school English teachers and my former English teacher now newspaper publisher mother. Maybe you haven’t read her column. I’m one of the “mean kids” she refers to frequently, much to my chagrin.

The proposed Obamacare and his desire for an ultimate “single-payer sytem” is socialized medicine. I’m sorry if that language is insulting. As far as my use of liberal fascist, these are not contradictory terms. Here is a definition of fascism, “political regime, having totalitarian aspirations, ideologically based on centralized government, government control of business, repression of criticism or opposition, a leader cult and exalting the state and/or religion above individual rights.”

Maybe you can’t see the current state of our country, Obama’s intentions, journalism and the mainstream media coverage of the Obama Administration. The government under Obama has taken over GM and Chrysler and fired their CEO’s. The president fired the CEO of a publicly traded company! Obama has shut down hundreds of profitable car dealerships, taken over huge national banks, hired a pay czar and treats dissent as an enemies list. Sheila, now 536 men and women want to control one-fifth of our economy and control it from a central location - Washington D.C. They want to craft this juggernaut behind closed doors. That is hardly transparent. If followers of his regime are liberal, they are liberal fascists. There is an entire book on this subject by Jonah Goldberg called Liberal Fascism. You can probably pick up a used copy at Half Price Books in First Colony.
