A man who police describe as a person of interest in the murder of Leiah Jackson is in custody on a unrelated charge.
Few details are available on the “person of interest” in the slayings of Leigh Jackson and her fiancée Yancy Daniels. Jackson was stabbed 22 times at her home in Missouri City. Her fiancée and father of her unborn baby boy, Yancy Daniels was found shot to death on the same day near an apartment in southwest Houston.
According to reports, the man police believe responsible for the murders is Cornelius Harper, a 23 year old cousin of Yancy Daniels. Harper has been taken into custody on unrelated charges in Harris County relating to a parole violation.
Missouri City police are still awaiting test results before filing charges.
