Rosenberg police arrested man for burglary of a motor vehicle and evading arrest after a chase through town that ended near Kendleton.
Assistant police chief Dallis Warren said Rosenberg patrol officers responded to a call in the parking lot of the 99 Cent Store in the 2500 block of Avenue H last Wednesday afternoon after a man reportedly took a purse from inside a car.
Officers arrived on the scene about 3:30 p.m., and as they arrived in the area, they saw the suspect vehicle drive away. When officers attempted to stop the car, the suspect took off. A pursuit resulted through the streets of Rosenberg to US 59 south. “The suspect eventually stopped on FM 2919 in Kendleton, where he was taken into custody without further incident,” said Warren.
The suspect has been identified as Pete Morales, a 29 year old Hispanic male, from Rosenberg. Morales has been charged with Burglary of a Motor Vehicle and Evading Arrest, he was taken to the Fort Bend County Jail.
