A Rosenberg police officer was injured in a motorcycle accident early last Wednesday morning. Officer Gary Roberts suffered severe head injuries in an accident on the Westpark Tollway about 3 a.m.

According to authorities, Roberts was traveling westbound on the tollway when he lost control of his bike near the Mason Road overpass. He was taken via air ambulance to the Houston medical center where he is being treated in the shock trauma ICU at Hermann Hospital. Roberts was not on duty at the time of the accident, nor was he wearing a helmet.
