Sunday evening shortly before 9 p.m., sheriff’s deputies were called to investigate an armed robbery at the Shell service station at 3535 FM 762 near Richmond just yards away from US 59.
According to authorities, a white male walked into the store section of the service station headed for the restroom. When he exited the restroom, he walked over to the cash register near two employees. The man produced a pistol and demanded the cash from the register. With cash in hand he fled from the store. Once in the parking lot the suspect got into the passenger side of a white 4-door sedan. The vehicle was seen heading southbound on F.M. 762.
The suspect was described as white or light skinned Hispanic male with a beard. He is believed to be about 6’. The suspect was wearing a black t-shirt, black shorts, a blue ball cap and white sneakers. In surveillance photos, not good enough to print, he can been seen walking out of the store with the cash drawer in his hand.
