Leonardo DiCaprio stars in this film that surrounds a team of folks who steal ideas and other secrets from folks while they are dreaming. Everything you dream is an idea built upon images. Truly, the bottom line is that a dream is a maze. The premise isn't too far off from being plausible, albeit scary as hell. After you wake up, the focus becomes centered on your dream. Was it real? Did that really happen? Or was I really dreaming? Who knows? The single, unarguable fact is that you better pay attention while watching this film or you will be lost forever.
In addition to DiCaprio, the rest of the cast was just as impressive. Ken Watanabe, Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Ellen Page are all outstanding. The chemistry level achieved from this ensemble cast has not been seen since the 2004 cinematic gem, Crash. Much of that chemistry comes from the brilliant direction of the film by Christopher Nolan. Nolan has taken the script and performances by the cast and molded the film's environment into a question - and that's the entire film. You begin to question dreams versus reality because of Nolan's driving force. The camera tricks and CGI will keep you in awe throughout the film. As sure as I am sitting here writing this review, Mr Christopher Nolan will be one of the Best Director nominees for the Oscars this year.
Inception is chock full of incredible performances, brilliant direction and a story that is absolutely mind numbing. There is no question this film warrants multiple viewings as there is just too much to take in at one time. The film will keep you on the edge of your seat, guessing all the way to the end of the film. Even after the film ends for that matter. In this writers opinion, if the end of the year were today, Inception would win Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actor. Yes, it's that good.

INTO THE DEEP - PBS
America, Whaling, and the World Equal parts fantastic sea adventure, mythic saga of man versus beast, and cautionary economic and environmental tale, Ric Burns Into the Deep is the thrilling, epic story of three centuries of whaling and the unique relationship between American whalers and the giant creatures they hunted. These mysterious, mammoth beings both revered and reviled fueled the expansion of the American economy and enabled Nantucket, a backwater Massachusetts colony settled by religious refugees, to become a capitalist power on a grand and global scale. At the height of the whaling industry, U.S. whale ships encircled the globe, a massive state-of-the-art fleet crewed by highly-skilled mariners whose ever-widening search for prey enabled them to chart the seven seas. Once slaughtered for the precious oil that filled their massive heads a high-quality illuminant that lit the drawing rooms of Europe and greased the wheels of the Industrial Revolution these magnificent creatures once again have a role to play at the new struggle to supply to our energy needs.

ENTRE NOS - Indiepix
This film is very moving, it is raw in the aspect of emotion and gritty in that you feel the struggle of living in New York City without being from the city. it is very uplifting and makes you feel the possibilities of creating the life you want with tenacity, courage and fortitude but also not without loss and heartbreak along the way. The fact it is based on a true story made the film that much better. The story grabs you from the start, the acting was really strong, and the direction was fantastic. Most impressive was the cinematography. This is a brilliant program that you should not miss.
RED VS BLUE RECONSTRUCTION: Season Six - Flatiron Films
The Red vs. Blue series is famous for its running gags, quick wit, stinging satire, and nonsensical story lines. Lasting six seasons and 100 episodes, The Blood Gulch Chronicles was the defining moment for machinima. Reconstruction changes the essential formula that, in turn, make the series even better than before. Instead of telling the story from the point of view of the RvB soldiers, the outsider Freelancer Agent Washington narrates the story. The style takes risk by blending its signature comedy routines with dark and compelling drama and the science fiction elements are no longer relegated to the category plot devices. These surprisingly smart elements now propel the plot forward and enhance the emotional impact of the plot. As opposed to leaving story lines unresolved, this story actually cleans up the story and resolves many of the questions lingering from the Blood Gulch Chronicles. Moreover, it is done in a brilliant way that will both shock and amaze fans and new viewers alike.

BEST OF EUROPE: Beautiful Germany - Questar

COURAGE THE COWARDLY DOG: Season one - Cartoon Network
The characters and the stories are hilarious. As for Courage himself, true, he was a coward, but in each episode, he finds a way to put that all aside to save his owners, Muriel and Eustace. Courage was the kind of hero you could relate to. He didn't wanna be the hero, and if you had to go up against some of the crazy stuff he did, you wouldn't wanna be either. But there was something about the dog's anxious disposition and terrified personality that made him a likeable character. He didn't talk much, but what he said mattered. "I know I'm not gonna like this" was his battle cry when it came time for action. Then he would pull out some off-the-wall prop or devise some master plan to save the day, and things would go back to normal again, except for the fact that most of the time, the family house was destroyed by the end of the episode.

Rudy explores vivacious Milan, a European center for finance and fashion, by visiting an extravagant Gothic cathedral, viewing Leonardo da Vinci's famous Las Supper painting, and of course shopping. Rudy winds his way across this largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. Once the center of the ancient world, Sicily offers up a vibrant, sun-soaked mixture of history, tradition, and intense cultural pride. At Palermo, Rudy visits a lively market, and marvels at Monreale Cathedral, which shows off remnants of its Arab, Norman, and Byzantine past. Rudy also climbs Mount Etna, for unearthly views. Some of the best cinematography I have ever seen in a home entertainment product is included in this set.
THE PHIL SILVERS SHOW: Season One - Paramount
The Phil Silvers Show is one of television's greatest comedies, and more than 50 years later it still passes inspection, thanks to masterful writing, a platoon of great character actors, and the commanding presence of Phil Silvers as major schemer and private fixer Sgt. Ernest Bilko. This show was one of the funniest comedies ever on TV and deserves a season-by-season release. The show originally ran from 1955-59, only four years, but had a whopping 143 episodes! A few years ago, Paramount released a 50th Anniversary Edition of the show. That earlier dvd collection only included 18 episodes selected from all 4 seasons, with most from the first season. Most fans have wanted a season-by-season collection, and this release of Season One and now it is here for all to enjoy!
GOODNIGHT MOON - Scholastic
This title is fantastic on so many levels. Good Night Moon takes a classic, simple story and makes it come alive through gentle animation. As the story is read aloud, the words to the story show up on the screen, encouraging children to read. While it’s read, a woman signs the story using American Sign Language (ASL). This title makes it fun to learn to read and to sign at the same time. It’s perfect for children with Down’s Syndrome or children who are hearing impaired, and can encourage other children to learn ASL so they can communicate with children who sign. It can promote discussion on different means of communication. Bonus Features include an area where children can take a quiz to see what they remember about the story.
INBRED REDNECK VAMPIRES - MVD
Inbred Redneck Vampires finds sexy vampire Catherine, played by Felicia Pandolfi, and her familiar Lendel, played by Warren E.B.B., on the run from a ruthless vampire hunter. They hide out in the small redneck town of Backwash, where Catherine hatches a plan to turn the backwoods folk into an army of her vampire slaves. The film isn't award quality, but it is rather interesting and will make you chuckle from time to time. Worth the watch!
POIROT THE MOVIE COLLECTION: Set FIve - Acorn
Poirot Set 5 is just a great murder mystery. Agatha Christie suspense perfect. David Suchet acting excellence. Combined they make any British Mystery viewer salivate. Add top guest stars in each, subtitles for the hearing and dialect challenged, and kick in some of the best filmed period mystery ever produced. It's what fans have come to expect with Poirot, Agatha Christie, Masterpiece Mystery, and the untouchable as Hercule Poirot--David Suchet. The best Poirot yet, of what I've seen.
TOKYO TRAIN GIRLS: The Series 1, 2, 3 & 4 - Cinema Epoch
These films run the gamut from Private Lessons, Supervixen, The Sensuous Nurse and a Young Wife's Desires. All four films in the series pretty much follow the same format such as this: Two years into a marriage with the heir of a wealthy family, Ayumi is already feeling distant from her husband. The reason is her coercion into nightly perverted activities by the sadistic inclinations of her sadistic husband. In addition, the same man on her commute to finishing school frequently molests her. The man ultimately shows up at Ayumi’s house and rapes her. She realizes it has all been captured on camera and the man that raped her was hired to do so by her husband. While the films aren't for everyone, including those that aren't of adult age, this kind of Cinemax type programming actually follows a script, contains character development and has a plot that will keep you engaged. I was impressed and am pleased to recommend this series to those of proper age.
