The Route 36 Bar is under new ownership and has made a concerted effort to change the way Fort Bend residents and guests enjoy a night out.
The Route 36 Bar is hosting an evening with the Bellamy Brothers this coming Sunday night March 27. New owner and an independent Alaskan businessman Mark Horne says Route 36 Bar is set to become a premier music entertainment venue.
After extensive renovations, the establishment has been split into two very distinctive areas that are sure to please just about every customer. One side is a non-smoking dancehall that features a local DJ, with Karaoke on Thursdays and live bands most Saturday nights. Horne said they are in the process of booking well known artists to highlight their weekend events, beginning with the Bellamy Brothers this Sunday night.
The goal of Horne and his partner Melinda, is to offer guests a clean, safe and enjoyable place to sip libations and listen to music. Horne identifies the establishment’s strong points as abundant well lit parking, good security, a plethora of entertainment, as well as the best sound system in the Houston metro area - according to visiting bands. Currently, Route 36 Bar has 5 billiard teams who are involved in league competition and very soon they will begin a competitive dart league.
Route 36 Bar still has some tickets available for the Bellamy Brothers concert in the smoke-free dance hall or smokers can enjoy the concert from the porch or the highly filtered bar.
Horne, an independent businessman from Alaska, is determined to make the Route 36 Bar a new entertainment experience for their Fort Bend guests. The Dance Hall is also available for private parties, fundraisers, and special events. So slide out to Route 36 Bar on Highway 36 just south of the Fairgrounds and see what it is like to be “Two Steps Above the Rest.”
